No New Posts Entrance Hall

Double oak front doors, opening to the west. Large, cavernous room, lit by torches, with ceiling so high it's barely visible. Wide marble staircase opposite the front doors (east wall) leads up to first floor. Double doors to the right (south wall) lead into the Great Hall. On the east wall are two doors, one on either side of the staircase. To the north of the staircase is a door leading down a flight of steps to the first dungeon level. To the south is a door leading to the Hufflepuff common room and the kitchens. On the left (north wall) is a door leading to a smaller antechamber where First Years wait to be sorted.

No New Posts The Great Hall

Vast chamber with an enchanted ceiling which mirrors the sky outside. Four long tables for the four houses. Closest to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin, then Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and next to the far wall, Gryffindor (this order may possibly be reversed, depending on how you orient the room to the entrance hall). The teachers sit at the High Table, a table on a raised platform at the front of the room.

No New Posts Divination - Professor Firenze

What does the future hold for you? Attend Divination to find out. An elective, offered beginning in your second year, this course covers reading tea leaves, palmistry, crystal balls, astrology, and more. This class is on the Ground or the 7th floor, depending on who your teacher is. If your teacher is Professor Trelawney then you will be here on the 7th floor, if you're taught by Professor Firenze (who happens to be a Centaur), you will be in one of the classrooms on The Ground Floor.

No New Posts Filch's Office

Filch's office is a small room with a single oil lamping hanging from the ceiling. It smells of fried fish. In it are filing cabinets with details of the misdeeds of students. Fred and George have an entire drawer to themselves. There is also a cabinet filled with records of the misdeeds of students, chains and manacles (not used these days but kept polished just in case), a cabinet full of confiscated magic items marked "Confiscated and Highly Dangerous," desk and chairs and lots of forms to write up malefactors!

Or perhaps your just in need of a quick food fix before you return to that horrendous Potions essay you've been putting off for weeks now? No New Posts The Hufflepuff Common Room

For the loyal and hardworking. The Hufflepuff common room is a large circular room. Its soft carpet is a pale yellow and scattered around the room are dark mahogany tables and clusters of squashy armchairs with cosy settees. A elaborate marble fireplace is always burning in its hearth casting a warming, golden glow in the commonroom. Around the room, beautiful tapestries decorate the walls, some showing the proud Hufflepuff symbol, the badger. Beautiful windows complete with black velvet drapes look out onto the lake and countryside beyond.
